Letter Name and Sound Cards Set 2

These letter sound cards are perfect for your sound drill to help emergent readers learn letter names and sounds (i.e. the alphabetic principle). Both the large and small sound cards include a picture clue to help students remember the sound that each letter makes.

Also included, are small letter cards without a picture clue. These cards are used to help teachers remove the scaffold of the keyword and assist students in transitioning to the skill of identifying the letter name and/or letter sound.

This set of sound cards include the following:

• long vowels with a silent e (a-e, e-e, i-e, o-e, u-e)

• long vowels in the open syllable

• r-controlled vowels (ar, er, ir, or, ur)

• vowel teams (ai, ay, ee, ey, oa, oe, igh, ie, ue, ui, oi, oy, au, aw, ou, ow, oo, ea, ew)

• V-e exception (ive)

The Letter Name and Sound pack includes the following:
