I am a Wilson-certified Dyslexia practitioner, literacy specialist and passionate advocate of the Science of Reading. I work in a suburban town in Connecticut. This is my 20th year in public education. I have worked as a third and first grade teacher and was a Language Arts Consultant in my previous district. Currently, I am a Reading Intervention Specialist, K-6. I love my job as my primary responsibility is working with children. My ultimate goal as an educator is to foster independence and a love of reading within my students through the use of evidence-based structured literacy instruction.

I am a lifelong learner and self-proclaimed nerd who thrives on collaboration. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing teachers regarding in-class, small group support. It is through rich discussions and thoughtful analyses that impactful changes can be made. I understand that teaching may present the greatest rewards and the utmost challenges. My hope is to support blog readers in this journey.

I have a wonderful husband, two amazing children, and the most adorable black lab! When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, baking, and being active.

I am so thrilled about writing this blog with Wendy and hope readers find it inspiring and thoughtful!
